Arrow weight question
« on: August 26, 2012, 12:12:00 PM »
I have a 52lb @28"/60" recurve. I have been shooting 28.5" arrows weighing approximately 452 grains with 125 grain heads. They are Easton Legacy 2016's. With that said; shouldnt my arrows weight approximately 520 grains based on 10 gpp? If so, will I have to go to 175 grain heads? When I addbthe175 grain heads my arrow ends up weighting 522 grains. Also, from a noise stand point I can't tell much difference between 145 heads and 175's. Also, I primarily hunt deer in Georgis.

On side note; I remember a link going around about an arrow weight chart. I think it was a guys name or something? If anyone remembers it could they please send it to me? Thanks

If the 175's are tuned to shoot straight that would be my choice. Besides the extra weight which will help in penetration etc. the 175's will add FOC . On aluminum arrows,I don't think the FOC is quite as beneficial as carbons, carbons like a high FOC.
If you shoot the 125 grain broadheads better the weight is on the light side but will work, fine.
