I'll be leaving a week from today for the greater Walden region. Anyone know if there are any burn bans in effect? How dry is it?

I was camping around Gould a couple weeks ago and the ban had just been lifted. It would pay to check with the ranger district and county to confirm.

I agree with Glunt check with the ranger. I know on the other side of the divide in Grand county they had the burn ban lifted

I was there last year and the forest service was very helpful with info on burn Bans and road closures....just give them a call in Walden....Hey good luck on your hunt!!

The statewide ban has been lifted, but some counties have their own bans in effect. The sheriff's office in the county where you will be can help you out.

Well, if any of you guys come across our camp your more than welcome to stop in an say howdy, have a meal, drink or just talk elk. Camp sits down in a holla, it will have a wall tent, 25' old trailer with a carport looking cover sitting off to one side, american flag flying and a silver dodge diesel with colorado organ donation plates on it. If you see my truck in town dont hesitate to flag me down. Good luck, be safe. Most of all have a great time!
