Successfull Hunts!
« on: August 30, 2012, 08:22:00 PM »
Good luck to all this yr. on a successful hunt!
Our season is still a month off, so ive been tuning, tweaking, building shafts and getting gear ready, but while doing all this ,I got to thinking, about what success really is.
So many times, success is defined by bringing home the Big One, but the good times spent afield with friends and family around the fire, camping, laughing, playing the old six string and singing out of tune, stories of near misses, wading thru the Rose briars, falling in the creek,  beautiful sunrises, etc.  I believe are what make up our truly  successful hunts.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL THIS YR. on a SUCCESSFUL HUNT!
But let us not forget that success isnt always defined by Red, but rather by the enjoyment had by all to achieve ,The Successful Hunt.   :campfire:

BRAVO!!!

I think the kill is just icing on the cake. I have had many great hunts where I did not loose a single arrow.

To me that stuff is all gravy and provides priceless pleasure that I would sometimes trade for success but to me, true hunting success is defined by dead animals. Can a hunt be rewarding without dead game? Hell yeah, but successful? ? Nah,,,, to me they have two very distinct meanings.

I will say that the things you speak of are what I live for and what makes hunting such a rewarding lifestyle but they do not equate to success in my eyes.   :campfire:
