AD Trad Help
« on: August 31, 2012, 10:23:00 PM »
Looking at trying these out. I have a saw and such for my arrow building. Want to install uni-bushings and g-nocks. I'm assuming you have to cut a little off the nock end of shaft to do this? Also I shoot a Centaur LB about 59lbs at my 30" draw. I need Lites or the regular's?Like my arrows 31" long. Thanks

Our set ups are similar. I shoot a widow PMA, 57#@ 30", 31" AD regular. I also use the g-nocks, but don't trim anything off the nock end.

So the bushings will just glue right in the stock shafts?

Yes the bushings are made to just fit right in them, they will also accept Easton ACC 3-28 uni-bushing.You can also use the taper nock adapter, then you cut the tip off at the first groove and then you can use G-nocks in them. The best way to go is to just get the G-bushings for AD's,I bought mine from 3Rivers.Like said do not cut anything off the nock end.

Shoot the regular Trads....no need to cut off the nock end....if you need to cut these down, do so from the front....don't mess with the back. (I don't have a clue about the nocks you are talking about)

been using the g-nocks with bushings for years.  work great, a little dab of jb weld quick and they will stay in the arrow forever.  Recently purchased the G-nock bushings from 3 rivers (don't have to cut the tip off of these) and they seem to work just as well.

When you order the unibushings, make sure they are for the AD shafts, otherwise might be too small or too large. They make them for the AD shafts. Raptor archery has them.

I think with your bow you would want the trads.Don't cut anything off the nock end of these shafts.

I've been looking at these as well 35-55.  If you shorten them to 28" bop is spine change dramatic like parallel carbons? Hill Wesley Special 50 @ 28. Would like to have around 540-580 gr arrows. Is this doeable with these?

58winters if you use regular insert and a 200 gr point it should put you around 525-530 with trad lites, reg trads would be too stiff. With that short of arrow you will need a heavy point to tune which will help get your wanted arrow weight
