Bring it all and you'll need to get that thermacell for sure, bug tamer suit and snake boots would be good too.

One thing you gotta realize is 30 degrees in the humid south is not like 30 degrees in the dry west.  When I hunt in the west the mornings it is not uncommon to be in the upper teens and I wear a tee shirt and a light scent lock coat and stay warm.  You can't put enough clothes on when it is 2o degrees in a humid climate.  And in the west even when the temps hit way into the 80's and 90's, the shade is cool and can be downright cold when napping.  Not so where it is humid. And it is just the opposite on the lower end of the themometer.  It's all about moisture.  Keep it all.  You'll wish you did.  God Bless

I lived in and hunted florida for the better part of 27 years. I was in central florida and yes it will freeze. Keep your wool, when its 30 degrees and the humidity is still high it feels colder. You will be happy to have that blind as well. I used ground blinds a lot for afternoon hunting. You can watch the clock in the early season and pretty much bet on a rain shower around 3-4pm everyday. Double Bull will keep you dry. Most of the time I hunted out of a climber. There is a lot of public land and a climber is just the thing for getting way back in the swamps and finding the bigger deer. 5 minutes outside orlando in 1997 I was in a climber deep in a swamp. I killed a 235lb 8 point that scored 120. Not common in those parts but they are there. Good luck to you. feel free to email me with any hunting questions about the state. I guided for gators and ducks there too. I can send you to some great places!  :)

Now that is solid advice!  I don't know what a  resident lifetime license there costs, but you will probably get your money back if you make two trips back to Idaho to hunt!

Some good advice on this thread.  It always amazes me what people perceive Florida to be like.

I would keep all except the wool if you are going to spot & stalk...As others have mentioned, if your are going to sit on a metal stand, in the northern & panhandle sections, & maybe go up to NC, AL and GA (as most Floridians do for more or bigger Deer) you could use the wool. Definitely invest (or with the money from the wool sale/trade) in a bug suit and scent control base layer. My 2 centavos.

My advise do not go there, i lived there for 2 years after high school with my mom, I couldn't take it any more having grown up in western N.Y. so I left and am back in N.Y. even with the killer taxes,i take it any day over F.L.

the air is more humid down south and by the gulf of mexico with a breeze in the winter, you'll need extra clothes. It will cut you in half at times. Id wait and see how it feels to you and then decide what you want to keep. Enjoy Florida.

keep it all...I grew up and am now again in South Carolina...and did a couple years bowhunting when I was stationed near Ft Walton Beach.

ground blind- good to use there as well amongst the palmetto bushes and scrub oak..

climber- yep lots of pines...can still use it.

wool- as mentioned...once you get used to the warmer weather...anything below 70* will feel cold after couple years if in South Florida.

Thermacell is your friend....Permethrin spray for your clothing...and buy some wicking hot weather clothing to rotate between hunts as you are going to sweat more walking to your stand than you did in an entire year out west.

Welcome to the south....
