what will happen when i hit a squirrel with my 70# bow with a fieldpoint backed with a washier .. will that destroy 90% of the meat due to trauma?

It'll be fine unless you slam the sucker in the rear legs! It would probably tear them up fairly good. Out of a 70 pound bow, if you want to minimize meat loss, I might be more inclined to try a steel blunt or a steel blunt covered with a rubber blunt.

I meant to add in my earlier post, that you should be fine as long as you stay away from the hindquarters.
My preference though is a Ace Hex head or a Judo.

Too early to chase squirrels for me. Woods are still thick with foilage, hot, skeeters...and snakes are still out. I'll wait for Oct 1st when I can bowhunt those bigger rodents.

I use judo points and havn't ruined one yet, hitting them is hard enough most of time, they never stop moving!
