Ok Guys...I searched the Forums for an answer since I am sure this or similar has come up? I did not quite find one.
Going with a longer arrow length vs a shorter length? Pro & Con, i.e., I have a 27.5 DL. My bow is rated 53# @ 30" AMO 62", etc. I checked the math, the arrow chart, etc. However, the original owner did all the tuning for his 30" DL, etc. I shot his arrows XX75 2216 cut to 30.75" with 150 2 blade BHd. Roughly set-up equals ~540-545 gr arrow vs if I cut to 29" arrow L ~ 518 to 523 gr arrow.
What are your thoughts on this...BTW, I have been shooting the originals with good accuracy. I am not trying to get out of tuning for me, I am just concerned that the difference will be minimal and I wondered if by using the heavier arrow upon impact and penetration is better?
I will admit that maybe I am a bit biased and used to super fast speeds and deep or complete pass through from my compounds. Oops, I did not mean to say compound...Hehe.
