Scent Question
« on: September 04, 2012, 04:00:00 PM »
Or was it "2 scents"    . Does anyone know the lowdown on whether or not scents keep from year to year? I am thinking specifically of Deer Dander (I got a great price on several bottles 2 years ago still have a couple left) and of Smokey's scents? How about Tink's? Do they have preservatives?  I used to store them in a plastic bag in the refrigerator but that was, um, not appreciated........  :dunno:

Smokey told me himself that his scents age better than new, and to store them in a cool dry place, refrigerator not necessary.

Deer dander will definitely be good to go
Its not the size of the animal you hunt that matters. Its how you hunt the animal.

Just keep all scents in a airtight bottle in a cool place, preferably the refrigerator and definitely out of direct sunlight and heat and they will last a very long time.
They'll be no quitters till we bag us some critters!

I keep scents from year to year in the refigerator (just make sure they are clearly labeled) and have never had any go bad.

I like Dan Fitzgerald. I may pick up a bottle or two and give it a whirl.
