DALAA 45 lb setup
«

OK guys I have a new Dalaa with 17" riser and 45lb limbs. I draw 27.5 and I need a good arrow setup for hunting and I will also shoot some 3d.
Shafts that I have are:
2016s
2018s
Axis 400s
I suspect I need to go with a weaker shaft than i have and I am Ok to purchasing new shafts etc just want a few comments from the 'experts' !!!!
THANKS

2016's with some weight up front, 175-225 grains, will probably work.
You could cut the 2018's a little long (30 inches). That might work too.
I shoot carbon spines of .500 out of my 45 lb bows. Most always a standard insert and 200 grain point.

I shoot the 21 dalaa with 40# recurves and carbon foam LB limbs. I think the 2016's around 30" in length with 150gr tip would be close. The 400's I found stiff even with 100gr inserts, but 500's will work with those same inserts. 2018's will also be too stiff unless you use around 225-300gr tips. If you have a good weight selection of field points try them out with a bare shaft, and see how they fly.

Since your draw is 27.5, you could shoot 1916 or .600 spine shafts cut to 29" with 125gr tip.

Thanks. Anything else anyone can suggest for the 2016s?Looks like that's the way to go. If I go 225 up front and cut em at about 29, sounds like I'd at least be in the ballpark.

I shoot a DAS with 40 lb limbs maxed out so, they would be around 45 lbs at my 28.75" draw length. I shoot Easton axis 500's cut to 29.5" , std insert, 125 grain tip, 1" alum 1916 footing, three 5" parobolic feathers. Total weight = 428 grains
They fly great! I've been shooting this arrow set up from all my bows with great results.

I think I would lean towards what tradlongbow suggested using .600 spine carbons, With your 27.5" draw

I tried the 2016s but I couldn't get em stiff enough. So, I'm using 250 up front on a 28.75" 2018 and it flies nice. I'm sure my speed is down but when it hits the rag bag it sounds like a .44 !!!!
Any further suggestions are welcomed. I can tweak it the rest of the way with brace height adjustment I think.
Thanks y'all.
