huntin with my son
«
on:
September 09, 2012, 08:22:00 PM »
this friday was opening day in MD.It was too hot to hunt but my 14 year old just didnot want to hear that.He was pumped an ready to go,so we went.I sat jake in his stand made sure he was all strapped in an I told him to text me if he got something.Off I went to my stand I was thinking about Jake an his season last year he had 4-5 shot offerings an missed each time.We would talk about how things went down each time.I knew he was getting close to putting it all together he never gave up an was lovin every hunt even know he was missing.Jake hung in there all winter never complianing.we shoot all the time with friends every week end we are somewhere shooting 3-d.so 20min after leaving Jake on Friday my phone went off Jake hit pay dirt.He was flippin out an so was I he was very proud an It was a very special time for my son an I.I told jake to sit tight an I would be over.Jake had taken his frist trad deer we recovered his doe 40 yds from where he shot it.It was a time I will never forget we hugged an slapped high five.My son has his frist trad story in his back pocket.Jake shot his deer with a custom recurve 42lb made by a dear friend Dave Henn ( aka hatrick) here on trad gang.Jake thinks hes got this thing down pat.I cant wait to see what happens when bubba shows up in his face this november who knows he may do just fine.I tell him to remain humble I hope he listens.I will try to get some pictures up soon.TAKE A KID HUNTING IT IS A GREAT EXPEARANCE

I watched my son shoot his first deer with a bow. I was sitting in a tree about 20 yards from him and saw everything unfold from the deer walking up to the shot, I will never forget it. My grandson is next I hope I can see him do the same, congrats to you and your son, this is a special time for you both.

Congrats to your Son Plumber. I can Identify with you on the feelings being there when a Son takes their first deer. It is certainly a moment to remember. Good on the both of you. Good luck the rest of the season.

Started not to log on this morning as I have lots to do. Glad I did and read your story. Congrats to your son and you for enduring the heat. I will never forget my sons first. I think killin this slick head will go a long way toward helping Jake prepare for ole "BUBBA". Happy huntin, Kirk
