I was directed by a member here to barefoot options. I ended up getting the 5 fingers. I love them man they are so nice to wear. They can get REALLY cold however. For me barefoot or the closest to it is the way to go.

My dad always bow hunted in tennis shoes. I use a pair of old hunting boots that the soles are really thin. It takes awhile to get the boots in really good shape.

Just put the third pair of soles on this pair!
Easy to make too.

These are great to just watch yourself if it's wet out.

Tracy you "nailed it" with your warning about "watch out if it's wet"...lol

It doesn't have to be raining, just a light dew or even just the moisture that decaying matter seems to draw and you can experience some unexpected slips and falls.

One thing I have found that helps prevent them is a hiking staff.(very beneficial in other ways as well)

Mudd, I only have the slipping problems with the harder soled mocks like in the second pic. The softer soles are much better and I wear them all the time.

Good idea with the walking stave.

This is all you need to build them. I bye my needles at the dollar genaral, artificial seinew, something good to cut the leather, A good leather punch and some good leather of your choice.

I prefer the softer leather and I also double up the bottom of the mocs. If you bye this type of punch be careful they dont last to long if you bye the cheaper ones.

I like the single and you can bye different sizes for different holes but I just use the one size. You will be making alot of hole per pair.
