Same here. I just picked up some High Mountain jerky seasoning in hopes that during the youth hunt in two weeks my daughter is successful. I will also be out there with stick and string for the early doe season that is being offered. I can almost taste it now....   :)

I ran out of venison when I cooked the last roast about 2 or 3 weeks ago.  Fortunately, our season opened on Sept 1 and I killed a buck on Friday the 7th.  Got to get him cut up for fresh meat.  Ate the heart though.

"anyone else like to start the season with an empty freezer??"

I end most of my seasons that way too.

I've got a couple of packs of ground venison, but I do have a lot of wild hog left.  We'll be barbecuing some ribs this weekend.
