Chop.
Choppers give me repeatable results from one set to another. A gang of choppers is less expensive than a gang of burners.

Little Choppers.
I thought about getting into the Vario when it was available but the per unit price was too high. Now, since the Vario has disappeared from the market, I'm glad I stayed with the tried and true.

Burn. I was taught by my mentor, who was the NY State Field Archery Champ when i was in High School. He said that burning is the only way you know all the feathers are exactly the same or as close as you can get to it. I think he's right.

Burn'em! Only need one burner, ribbons are $2 ea. Only thing better would be smoke free.

Burner, you can do any shape and the ribbons are dirt cheap. I like the smell of burnt feathers but hey that's just me.

I too use them both, but for consistency I prefer to burn them.

I have used both, started with a burner but have since switched to a lil chopper. I like the burner because it will melt the ends of the feathers like you do with a rope when you cut it, the feathers wont wear down as quick going across the shelf. BUT, my wife like the chopper since it doesn't stink the house up

Guess i'll just keep picking my battles and keep making her happy...alot of bow out there to try!
