Chop.
Choppers give me repeatable results from one set to another. A gang of choppers is less expensive than a gang of burners.

Little Choppers.
I thought about getting into the Vario when it was available but the per unit price was too high. Now, since the Vario has disappeared from the market, I'm glad I stayed with the tried and true.

Burn. I was taught by my mentor, who  was the NY State Field Archery Champ when i was in High School. He said that burning is the only way you know all the feathers are exactly the same or as close as you can get to it. I think he's right.

Burner, you can do any shape and the ribbons are dirt cheap. I like the smell of burnt feathers but hey that's just me.

I too use them both, but for consistency I prefer to burn them.

I have used both, started with a burner but have since switched to a lil chopper.  I like the burner because it will melt the ends of the feathers like you do with a rope when you cut it, the feathers wont wear down as quick going across the shelf.  BUT, my wife like the chopper since it doesn't stink the house up   :)  Guess i'll just keep picking my battles and keep making her happy...alot of bow out there to try!
Too many bows to list, and so many more I want to try!  Keep the wind in your face, and your broadheads sharp.
