New Trad Shooter
« on: September 17, 2012, 07:25:00 AM »
I have wanted to try trad for a while I had a home made long bow I got in a trade well, turns out I got snookered on it. (long story)
As i contemplated the leap from compound to Trad I spoke too a friend that is as much a Traditional archer as I have ever heard of or met, to help getting started. He is A stick bow man. He told me he would help. About 4 weeks ago I called him and asked if he would accompany me to Sarrels Archery as my knowledge of trad is limited to say the least. Sure when we going?  before I knew it we were on our way. Upon arriving I met Bob and Zachery Sarrels. Both Great folks. After explaining what my plans were Bob selected several Bows to test drive I think I shot all of the bows he had. It was down to two one was the Serra and the Blue Ridge SR.
Well the Blue Ridge RS won in the end.
So I placed my order well I got the call that my new Blue Ridge RS Take-down Long bow is ready to pick up Monday Morning I was down there chomping at the bit Bob brought it out and I was AMAZED it was perfect!!!!!!! Went out side and flung a couple arrows Yep it was Perfect.THANK YOU Bob!!
I went to the range (Double G Archery) in Georgetown and My friend was there, Well We started off slowly Basics. As of Saturday i was able to hit the same target I was trying to hit.
I know I have a long way to go but I feel I'm on the right track and know there is much more learning to be done. Thank You Bisch for the support and attention Thus far:) Good luck on Your Elk Hunt!!
So here I am Learning a new style of Hunting.
Thank You for allowing me to take part in this Community.
