Rob,

I'd be lost with the hat below...mom bought it for me when I was 12, that was 27 years ago.  It fit my head a lot better back then...I find I need a beanie under it for better coverage now.

Sometimes it a two hat morning...brrr cold morning!

I think I'd be lost without it!  Sorry to hear about your loss!

Thanks,

Josh

What about the new "Lucky Bow"????????     :saywhat:

Will that help any??

I bought a "vintage" jeep cap at a gun show years ago. Black wool,HEAVY DUTY, military cap from way back. The first dunb thing I did was NOT buy both of the hats the guy had for sale. The second dumb thing was the fact that,in order to save 3 min of hand washing, I stuck it in the washing machine to "slosh around" for a minute. When I opened the washer after the load was finished I almost puked. I now have one of the nicest wool "Jeep Beenies" a guy could ever hope for.
I am still bummed about that one.

 Good luck hunting.
And finding a new hat.

I had time to think about it at work and came to a conclusion. While still providing an ample amount of luck for trad hunting that hat had its roots in my wheeel bow days.

So my plan is to not shave until I shoot a deer. Retaining the mojo of my fallen hat in my whiskers. Then at that moment said mojo will will be passed to my new more traditional lucky hat.    :readit:

Here is a pic of the new recruit and the new knife Fdlz58 was talking about.

All joking aside this poor boy feels pretty lucky without the hat. I have a happy healthy family, deer season is about to start and I got some new toys to play with this year.   :campfire:

In memory, to honor the damage done to your lucky hat, I just ordered a new TG lucky hat for myself.

John, your welcome to come down and hunt them with me.

Chuck, That bow and I have become good buddies in the last few months. This season can't get here soon enough.

I used to have an old green army sweater. It was Russian or something but matched up with cedars out west perfect. I killed many a critter in that sweater with my wheelie.

Now I have a new "lucky hat". When I got to Stickflingers last year Ryan hooked me up with one of them bendy-billed things.

I did some good things in that hat and look forward to this fall. I know it's gonna work out

Wearing a baseball hat while bowhunting? That's just wrong man. Can you imagine Daniel Boone, Teddy Roosevelt, Fred Bear, or Howard Hill hunting deer or elk in a baseball hat?

The washer did you a serious favor. Now you can get a real bowhunting hat.

Some great wool hats come out of Ireland. Jonathan Richard hats in a nice woven greenish-gray------now yer talking!

Many great wool felt hats are made right here in North America.

All of them are vastly superior to plastic/cotton baseball hats, which let's face it, are made for playing baseball. No sense looking goofy when you could have a REAL hunting hat.

(. . . hey, who is shooting all those slings and arrows my way. I was just teasing.)

P.S.  Trim the brim a little with scissors to make sure the string doesn't hit the brim and you're set to hunt.

2 things about the next time - don't use a machine to do something a stream/swamp/puddle/rain can do just fine. Second - appoint a better hat that you would never dream of washing..... like a good wooly one

All joking aside - you have great taste in knives that easily makes up for your taste in hats.  : )
