Have any of you ever made your own pipe from deer antler? Saw an interesting video on YouTube about one. Looked great just wondering if any of our fellow tradgangers have advice on building one.

Go to a pipe tobacco store, they should have explanations/descriptions of the blend on the jar. I like a blend of black cavendish and golden cavendish with just a little bit of virginia burley mixed in. That bite on the tongue can also come from a dirty pipe. I clean and scrape mine regularly.

Make my own briars and would not go hunting or fishing withouy them. Tryed everything to get rid of the dreaded tonque bite till I realized that tobacco with high amounts of virginias burn me up.I may draw heavier or my ph is different but I really enjoy Stokkebyes english and balkan and have cured the bite. I surely enjoy a pipe full with a hunting buddy or in my quiet time.Trad hunting and wood/cob pipes go together just look at the old pictures!

I take up the hobby on occasion, mostly in the summer months. I've been avoiding it during hunting season.
I know of some cigarette smokers that hunt successfully. Is anyone out there having successful hunting while pipe smoking? It sure is tempting when sitting for long hours in the woods. Also it would tell you all about the wind currents!
