This was one of six I saw this morning. I'll be honest, I missed my first shot at twenty feet when I clipped a briar.
I told the guys yesterday that I felt like they could be shot from the ground fairly easily due to their curiosity. This morning I grabbed my puffer bottle, turned into the wind, and off I went. Got to where I wanted to be and just listened for splashing water. This one exited the marsh at feet not yards. I was wearing a TCS jacket from Cabelas and it looked right through me. Same thing a four inch stag did last night. It was slightly facing me by the time I got to shoot. Not a shot I have ever taken, or intend to again, but they are small targets and I figured if nothing else I'd miss. Arrow entered at the base of the neck and traveled the length of the body. Total arrow weight was 580 grains with the 250 Wensel Woodsman.
