I met a man at work today
« on: October 08, 2012, 09:32:00 PM »
I work at a golf course around school up here in Warrensburg Mo, usually it's a pretty easy job, drive carts, pick up balls, etc. Today there was a break in between carts coming in so I sat down and watched the Cardinals vs. Washington game (GO CARDS) and was talking with an older man named Bill. Turns out he played baseball for a while and even professionally out of high school. Somewhere in the conversation, I mentioned something about archery. He stops and says, "I shoot a 75lb takedown Martin." I looked at him, said, "55lb Fred Bear Grizzly" shook his hand and struck up a friendship. Further along, I mentioned Ralph and Martha Perry public land and he said that's where he hunted and if I wanted, he could show me spots I would never believe. He also said I should bring a compass...looks like I'll be getting a compass and calling Bill up very soon. The experiences I've had within traditional archery have been phenomenal and I know everyone on this site will appreciate this. Keep the love brothers, it may open doors you would not believe.

Now that's a nice story. I love the common bond in traditional archery, and the friendships that can instantly form. Thanks for sharing.

Good deal.  He shoots a 75 pound bow, you shoot a 55 pound bow.  I wouldn't sass him to much.

I wouldn't sass an elder but your darn right! He said he also has had some shoulder work done but still shoots it.
