Kudos to Lefties R Us (bowstrings)
« on: October 10, 2012, 09:26:00 PM »
Recieved 2 strings from Allen Shafer (A.S.) yesterday for (2) 66 inch Hill style longbows. Before ordering, I set both bows to the same BH and measured the strings.  One was 1/4 inch longer than the other due to where the string grooves were cut for each bow.

One string was Ultra Cam, the other XS2 and both were made to my requested specs. When I strung my bows yesterday they were both at the exact same BH that I measured for and the serving and loops were exactly as ordered.  After 24 hours they have both only stretched enough to reduce BH by 1/16". I have ordered strings from several TG sponsors, and have never been disappointed with any of them, but these strings are a cut above most.  Hard to beat the money back if you're not satisfied deal also.  Thanks Allen and Barry.     :)

Allen makes a real good string...I owned a UC from Allen and it was great and to specs and I like the little cheat sheet he sends of the strings specs incase you ever needed the correct info for a particular string for a bow and great attention to detail and if I didnt make my own..LRU would get all my string business

Allen's made all of mine. Good as it gets and its also good to know you are supporting a good guy as well.

Allen, how does the Ultra Cam compare to all my D97s? Should I get all new ones in the off season?

TJ, the Ultra Cam has much less creep than D97. It is my favorite, so of course, Brownell discontinued it this year.   :bigsmyl:
