I have no problem with mine. Do you number your clamps so they always go to the same spot. I do 11/32 woods and then Easton Axis which I think are 5/16 they lay perfect.

I use the JJ multi too.  Once adjusted get full contact front to back but I also dry fit them before gluing.  It's one more step but worth it to me.

I've had my multi-fletcher since the late 1960's and never had any kind of problem such as is being described here.  In fact, I've never had any kind of problem with mind, and hope you get it figured out soon.

Loosen the wing nuts on each end.  Lay the arrow in a slot and put a clamp without a feather on top of the arrow.

Now move the whole jig right or left and see how the clamp starts to lay flat.  Keep moving until you see the clamp at its flatest position on the arrow then tighten the wing nuts.

Do this for each type of arrow, wood, aluminum or carbon

Just to,add to your data base.
I just checked my JOJAN multi.
With a bare shaft and bare clap it sits tight against, the, shaft.

I adjusted mine years ago for the left and right shift with the, bars top and bottom. Top is,just off center to the left bottom almost middle of slot.

I fletch 1/4 inch to 11/32 and carbons, etc without any adjustment.

I checked my clamps on a,straight edge and they are mostly straight .
These are right helical clamps.
