My son's growing up with a bow in his hands...
« on: October 15, 2012, 09:02:00 AM »
All the recent posts of sons and their first hunting adventures inspired me to put a few pics of up of my (soon to be 5 year old) son as he's grown up around bows.  I bought him a Black Rhino long bow for Christmas last year and he's pretty darn good -- if you don't mind me bragging a bit.

I thought it would be cool to show his progression from a tyke just learning to walk and watching me shoot and holding my arrows to him pounding the GlenDel now.

Christmas morning...

last week...

I'm one proud dad!!!!

***anyone have any ideas why that last pic posted like that?  I've tried loading and reloading into photobucket and it does that everytime, the file looks fine on my computer before uploading into photobucket???

The post the last few weeks of Hayden and Cade and their successes and hunts really have me excited about having a boy that's hooked on this "addiction."

The only problem is that on occasion...a 5 year old will outshoot me.     "[dntthnk]"

It's amazing what a little kid with no fear of missing can do.

We need to keep passing down or traditional ways.Adults and kids want the instant kill or the easy way to do things.Hayden was given a compound two years ago and he shot it very good but he said, i want to hunt with a traditional bow only that bow was gone the next day and he waited two years for his quest. We want to see all of our traditional families grow up.Great pictures lets keep them coming.

I hear ya Shakes my oldest loves it the youngest likes to go bowfishing a couple times a year. The oldest killed several deer with gun then compound now traditional only. I take them when "they" want to go. Well if I can the oldest would never go to school if he could hunt instead of course now girls are getting in the way!

Cool to see his progression ddauler -- I hope to share many hunting memories with Mason soon.  I was 7 or 8 when Dad let me start tagging along (no weapon ...just hunting with Pops.

That's great!  My son is three months old.  When I asked his Doctor a few weeks back how long it would be before we could determine eye dominance, she looked at me like I was crazy.

Jon,
Those pics of the little guy shooting are awesome. Man he's a natural. And you can tell he's enjoying himself too. That's great!
