what is the best ratio for arrow/broadhead FOC

there is no "best ratio" the most important thing is to have your arrows spined and tuned properly. then you can play with differend carbon arrow combination that shoot with a high foc.
for instance i can shoot goldtip 3555 with 125 grain tip, i can also shoot a gt 5575 with 225 up front, they spined well in my bow and shoot the good, now i chose the 5575's for the added weight and added foc.

was trying a 2117 alum. arrow it is 30 inches and the foc is at 10 " s from the point end just wondered if there was a ratio . thanks Jeff

Historically, and in my experience 12% was considered ideal for hunting arrows. With 10-14 acceptable.

Like several has pointed out the is no best ratio or optimum. Aerodynamically speaking, there is no such thing as too much FOC. I've been playing a lot with extreme FOC and the further forward the balance point is, the better everything gets. Folks like bow/arrow combinations that are forgiving, the further forward the FOC is, the faster the arrow will correct if disturbed, be it a poor release, twig, or small children....O.L.

Edit, I read that one paper by Don Morrison, he states arrows will drop faster with a more forward FOC, that is a myth. All else being equal a farther forward balance point will shoot flatter cause it doesn't burn off as much energy correcting itself...O.L.
