New Bow
« on: November 04, 2012, 02:55:00 AM »
Hello Tradgang, I registered a few months back but have not posted much even though Im reading post here almost daily. About two years ago I started shooting a hill style longbow and really enjoyed it. My son and I joined a local trad club and since then Ive tried lots of different bows. Finally I decided to order an Acadian Woods tree stick. I live about an hour drive from Mr. Tims shop. Decided to get a dark wood for hunting and let him work out the details. I think it turned out great. 58" 49# @ 28.5" hybrid longbow.

African wenge risor, black walnut limbs with bamboo core and myrtle flares. This thing shoots great. I stopped by his shop the other day when I was passing through. I said man, Ive tried lots of different arrows and weights and its hard to pick one cause it shoots them all pretty good. Tim just kind of smiled and said I know...

Buranurra, When I stopped by Tim`s shop wed. he was finishing a bow for a guy from down under. Cant recall the name but said he started the bow hunter hall of fame there. It was a fine 3 pc. with all the bells and whistles.

No blood yet but I found a good spot this week.

There was tons of rubs in this little area along with beds and even some good acorns. I will be back when the wind is right.
