I have been using hot melt glue for years. Bonning Ferrel-Tight will not work though. Use the cheap glue sticks from Wally World, and they don't come off until I take them off! Prep is the key. Here it is:
Use a .270 caliber bronze brush and scuff up the inside of the shaft. Use a Q-tip to swab the inside of the shaft with Denatured Alcohol. Get all the black dust out. Use Acetone to wipe down the aluminum insert. Put a field tip in the insert and put hot melt on the insert. Get the glue HOT and shove into the shaft with a twisting motion and immediately dunk it in water to cool off before the heat migrates to the carbon shaft.
If you want to cut the shaft a quarter inch shorter in the future, just heat up the field tip enough to pull it out.
After mounting broadheads and checking for alignment, use a small mini torch (Butane torch cigerete lighter works great) to heat the ferrel of the broadhead up enough to move it around on the broadhead adapter. You can get them to spin true like that. Try doing that with epoxy after it has set up.
