Pics and vid for TBM pheasant story

Story in Dec/Jan 2013 TRADITIONAL BOWHUNTER MAG mentions a target launcher that is easy to build just by looking at the picture.  Well they didn't include the pic.  The story also mentions watching a video but they didnt tell you where to find the vid (they left out my authors notes).  Anyway, you can find it by going to You Tube and searching my name, Bruce Garahan.

Another point I want to emphasize (and Dennis Kamastra also make this point in Tips from the old timer)is to use a minimum of Flu Flu fletch because pheas are tough, fast flying birds and with to much fletch your arrows burn out to quickly. Rick,  I dont know what kind of springs they are to tell you the truth.  I got them at a big box hardware store so they should be easily attainable They are about 8 to 12 inches long, very flexible and if I remember correctly were sold as a pair.  Just for you I will stop by the store today and get the info.  Cory, how did you make out with the storm?  As I think you all know we got hit the hardest here in Jersey.  Luckily I had no damage just power out for 4 days. Lots of people lost everything and many are still without power.  Yeaterday we got hit with a noreaster and lost power again, this time for only a few hours.

we're ok here Bruce - we do deal with this every year to some degree - I hate it you friends in the more temperate climate got hit with that - and truth is you got a more direct stronger hit and that was one of the widest storms I have ever seen.

Agree on minimum Flu Flu - I havent read a TBM in 6 years - but I do hunt swans with bows and the first thing we teach is to NOT Flu your arrows - besides killing arrow impact strength it completely throws off anyone who is serious about practicing and being proficient with shooting moving targets. I do realize some guys will say just practice with the flus - we recommend against that and use your regular arrows to shoot rolling tires which is excellent and very easy practice to do often.

Rick, the springs are 8 inches long and I would say about a half inch diameter they are sold singely and cost about 4.75 a piece.  Didnt see any name brand on the package

though I havent picked up the current copy yet of TBM (I dont think its on the stands yet).  The video does bring back some fond memories of chasing longtails as a kid with my old man!   And btw, great dogs!!!
