Been awhile since I've been on, but the folks here are always helpful. Only been away because life is too darn busy, and when given the chance, my "Bow time" is hopefully spent with one in my hand!
Anyway. Here is my dilemna.
I stand hunt. Have a Supermag 48 (42#at28) that is great, but lately after shooting it, it seems to make my forearm/elbow hurt. More than a bear grizzly at 55#, or a Montana at 60#. I LOVE the short recurve, and it does its duty on stand, but during practice sessions, it is killing me. I am pretty confident it is the "far forward" angle of the grip. Where most of the pressure is on the webbing between my pointer and thumb, not distributed as evenly across the lower palm like the other bows.
Is the supermag 48 a "high wrist" grip? If so, then do I need to be looking for a "medium" or "low" grip?
Finally, any suggestions on what to be looking for....my budget is 300 bucks or less, new or used. But my requirement is no longer than 56 AMO, and 56 is pushing it. If I need to go any longer, then I can just use the grizzly or the longbow,ya know.
Any particular bows that I should be asking for...that short AMO, 50# at 28, with a more "straight up-and-down" grip?
Thanks you guys, and God's mercies and blessing to you all.
