Zwickey 4 Blade Delta field test
« on: November 14, 2012, 03:27:00 PM »
http://i1244.photobucket.com/albums/gg565/gene167/11%2014%2012/Nov142012Deer023.jpg          Wanted to break in a new Big River Bow by John McDonald and do some more field testing on the Zwickey Delta 4 blade.  I've been using a true angle with the fine stones and honing polish to sharpen the main blades and file sharpening the bleeders.  Really like the way they turn out. The pass through arrow buried nicely in the soil after a 13 yard shot. The deer only walked\\trotted 20 yards and staggered before dropping and then lay motionless. All in about 9 seconds.  Thumbs up for the Big River Bow 64" and 55# that pushed the Beman 400 MFX with 100 gr shaft insert and 100 gr broadhead insert. All worked really well.

Those Deltas make a big old hole, don't they. I use the 2 blade ones and like the results with them too. I've used them on everything from squirrels to coyote to whitetails and all died within 90 yards, all were complete pass through shots.

I saw this post and thought, why would someone test a broadhead that's proven it's self for many many years........Duh....now I get it   :goldtooth:    Well done!

Been field testing Zwickey 4 blades since the 80s...from deer to Angora Goats to bunnys, to javis, to $300 # hogs....always get a pass through less the off leg or shoulder is solidly contacted on a big game animal.

Somehow I just can't seem to stop testing them.    :D

Congrats!!!

An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great.

You'll need a larger sample size to get statistically significant data...  Terry is getting close...  ;)

Congrats on the deer and the succesful first test!

It's great to see that heaped up coagulated lung blood. Sometimes it doesn't exit the cavity, must be the help of the 4 blade and the hide hole lining up with the cavity hole.
