Bronze antler knobs on special Silvertip
« on: November 16, 2012, 10:57:00 AM »
Got a set of bronze antler knobs for my Schafer Silvertip. I like a lot of weight in a riser, and figured I'd give these a try. Cant shoot it yet, still in recovery, but damn they look pretty good!

Whoops, looks like new photo bucket format doesnt resize to proper pixels like it used to. I'll see if I can fix.....

Nice David, haven't thought about adding weight that way but it would sure do it. I to like added riser weight. I have a Thunderhorn with Macarta in the riser and man it is stable.

For sure, I've got a target/FITA history and I love a heavy stable bow. This is a big riser too, Dave made a unique one for me, oversized it to make me a 66" takedown recurve. Its massive, I'll have to weigh it.

Nice! That's a perty bow and those look great on it,  any idea what they weigh compared to a standard bolt and bezel?

Where did you get the antler limb bolts? I would love to dress up one of my dye bows that way.

I just weighed both on a mail scale. The allen bolt and bezel weigh .7 ounces.
The bronze weighs 3.9 ounces.

The whole bow weighs 3 pounds 14 ounces. I think I could club an attacking coyote with that!

David has sold me one of the most beautifull bows I hve ever owned, a Howatt super diablo, with beautifull skins.David I keep following your posts and I think you have one of the most beutifull collection of bows and the job you do skinning them is matched by none.I read a while back that your fridge got unplagged and you lost all your skins.I hope quick recovery and that you get a nice stock of snakeskins so you can start working again. That is a very nice silvertip and the bronze gives it a classic, luxury look.
