Help with arrow tuning. GT 7595 Trad
« on: November 18, 2012, 08:58:00 AM »
Fellas,  Id like to hear from those experienced tuning Gold Tip 7595 Trad arrows. I am shooting a RH Shrew Scout recurve. 60" 61@30 draw weight at my draw length shooting three under. I have 31" Trad 7595 with 100 brass inserts. Stu Millers calc shows a 125 point to work best with this set up. I have been bare shafting these and no matter if its a125 or 225 point, they seen to fly sideway at ten yards. I went out to twenty yards and they are straightening up enough to land mostly straight with a 145 point a hair nock left in my foam target. But only from twenty yards. Ten yards and all points are very nock right. Any experience with a similar set up and pointers?

I would check to see how the nocks fit your serving and I would bet that those  shafts are going to be too stiff out of your set up.  Good luck and let us know what you figure out.

Todd,
I shoot a 60# hybrid LB @ 27" with 55/75 GTs cut to 28". I shoot almost 300 gr. up front and get excellent flight. Hope this is helpful.

i shoot 29.5"  7995s out of my right hand martin hunter 60# @ 28" and also my stotler gamegetter elite 72# at my draw.

the martin is cut to centre, the Stotler cut 1/4 before centre, so they spine the same on Stu's. I use 225 points, 100gr brass inserts.

Before, i was using 5575s, 100gr inserts and the 225gr points and broadheads. they hit far to the right and nock left.

My arrows may not be bareshaft tuned to perfection, but i have 3 bows and i can interchange between the 3 of them and the windage (left right) is the same for all, so the arrows are all tuned to the bows in the same way.

Im shooting 7595 blacks @31" with 200 grain points like bullets.  The 5575 trads @31" with 145-200 very well also. Both standard inserts.

I had the same problem, shooting similar poundage. Turns out I was short drawing and therefore shooting the arrows weak. It sounds like the arrows are too stiff.

I'm shooting 7595 full length with 100gr inserts and 150 grain point. Perfect flight. I was on board with the nock as mentioned above. Curriousity say throw more weight at them and see. Good luck,

if you're bareshafting how is the arrow correcting itself and changing from nock right to nock left?

nock right is stiff...nock left is weak.

is it slapping the bow?

Dan, the 7595s will stick in my target far nock right at 10 yards. I did some reading and it was suggested to shoot at 25 yards. At 25 they are straightening them selves out but I can visualize the arrow seeming to fly"sideways" for a bit. When i paper tuned these fletched from 5-8 yards, I was getting nock right an inch. Sounds like too stiff. I will have to try 300 gr points. With those and the 100 insert, that is about as heavy of a front end as it comes i would think.

When I bare shafted my 5575 trad, i get straight flight. Those 7595 trads are one stiff arrow!
