"Dipping tree" Pics

Not the worlds greatest invention, but it works nicely. When putting finish on longbows I use a dipping tank made from a plastic pipe and fitted with a piece of a large soda bottle. I dip half the bow at a time and hang it up in a T shaped "dipping tree" Once you get your finish thinned to the right solution it gives a very nice result, It can of course be used for arrow shafts also. Good idea Bue. What are you using for finish? Are those glass backed bows you are making?
Love the peak out the window of Norway in winter and the warm lighting in your shop.

Yes they are glass backed bows. I use an Polyurethane/Alkyde finish that is designed for heavy duty wood floors. It dries to a hard film but is still flexible enough for bow limbs. I thin it 25% with White Spirit, That gives the correct flow to it. Bue--.
