First off Russ....thanks for riding in those green planes for your country!!
The pigs are pretty smart at Granger. I prefer spot and stalk...(we need some rain to make walking/stalking quieter)...but I have not killed a pig at Granger as of yet...so I can't say that it is the best tactic. I've been trying to "learn" the WMA for a couple of years now in regards to bowhunting pigs and deer. I feel like this year (actually 2013) I will put some meat in the freezer. I've been fishing the river above Granger for quite a while and there is always pig sign. I bumped some big ones this Summer bowfishing....LOL!! Anyway...if you get a chance to get out after it cools off with some precipitation...I'd try below the dam in the Pecan Grove ...there is even more sign there and I know people who have killed pigs below the dam and spillway area. It is also easier to navigate that area in my opinion for a person new to the WMA. There are some other areas that people I know have killed pigs in...but you might not want to venture in those areas alone if you get lost as easily as I do LOL!!
PM me if you'd like so we don't hi-jack this thread anymore than we already have
LOL!!
Sorry about that Ray!!
