Vixen helps fight off hunger !

I slipped into a stand this evening hoping to have a deer come in that I wanted to take for the freezer.  Not long after getting in the tree I did have a young buck come by and he got a pass..  But just before dark a 1 1/2 year old spike came in and offered himself.
 I used the 66" JD Berry Vixen that's 50@28, about 52 or 53 at my draw.. Once again, a razor sharp Griz Kodiak left an awesome blood trail.
The little deer made about 50 yards before tipping over.
 

 
Kind of a neat Iphone pix I took of the buck I passed earlier this evening..

For a minute I thought you would have to eat only pork this winter. You wont starve for awhile I think.

I do give some pork to those who are in need or want of some BBQ meat..  Doesn't seem to difficult to find folks that want some..

I am blessed with some good hunting from time to time..

This was the first deer of the year. With any luck I'll tag another before the season's over.
