thunderhorn quiver- snuggers. got any pics?
«

hey guys i'm switching to skinny carbons and this means the gripper on my thunderhorn two point bow quiver won't grip them. they sell 'snuggers' which a like a small rubber band that goes on one ear of the clip to make the opening smaller and grip the skinny carbons.
anyone got a pic of them installed?
thanks, clint

I shoot gold tip, 35/55's and use a Thunderhorn Quiver without the need for "snuggers". Have you actually made the "switch" and confirmed that you need them?

how do you rejoin the rubber band? i have some flat rubber bands that would work if i had some way if cutting a section out and joining it so i had a small band about 1/4" diameter.
i'm not worried about the price. the shipping is likely to cost me twice the price of the snuggers that's all

I just cut them to fit each gripper, they are held in by friction and stay put most of the time when I pull an arrow from the quiver.

I use the snuggers on my quiver. They work great. I tried the rubber band thing, but the snuggers are WAY better. Even here, the cost of the shipping is higher than the snuggers, but they are worth it to not have razor sharp broadheads sliding out of the quiver hood. Here is a shot of them. These are actually on my Selway limb bolt quiver, but they are from Thunderhorn. I used them on my Thunderhorn Linx quiver too.
Note: the center clip didn't need them because the ones on either side acted as wedges.

For Axis shafts I have used "o rings" from the auto or hardware store. Also used small rubber bands my daughter used for braiding horse manes they have at farm and ranch stores...they all work well with a twist and half hitch and are cheap.

Thanks for posting the pic 30coupe.
In this case, at least for me, a picture really was worth a thousand words.

Livestock castration bands, little green bands. They are the best,FYI, also make great string keepers on longbows.

Shrink tubing from any hardware store....the bigger ones like H.D. will have quite the assortment in the electrical department. Stuff is cheap and one bag would probably do a few quivers. Just buy the size that would fit best (.5 inch? 3/8?), cut the tube into rings, place rings on either side of those gripper nubs, gently heat with a bic lighter or the wand you use to light the BBQ!

Bought some castration bands yesterday and just looking at them had a hard time imagining how they could work.
Got them home and they don't!!!! Oh well. Two dollar experiment.

I had the same problem with the Beeman shafts I am currently using. I cut a small piece of the adhesive backed velcro I use to cover my shelf and applied inside the gripper. Works really well so far.

I have a quiver that has the snuggers on it. I don't have a pic but it looks exactly like 30coupe's. They are cheap and do the trick. No experimenting needed. I called them and had them in less than a week.

I bought a new Boa quiver and my Beaman MFX Classic 400's are tight as can be in it.
I have just run a strip of hospital tape down into the grippers on bow quivers that I used bigger shafts previously and then put a few drops of supper glue to hold the tape. Touched up with black magic marker and worked fine for MFX shafts.
