I don't dislike Flemish strings. I like endless for no other reason than I just like to make 'em and I'm a bit faster at it. And heck with the Fast Flight, TS, DF97 etc I don't think strength much enters the equation anymore. I was just thinking in the theoretical re: tip potection. And according to Jason it sounds like it's a moot point.
For those that are interested I just went to the BCY website and they have a large selection of materials ranging from .014 to .030 that can be used for end servings. I'm not sure what Brownells twisted nylon #4 comes out to...probably around .018.
