DAS riser and NAP center or flipper rest?
« on: December 01, 2012, 10:40:00 PM »
I have ordered a DAS 17 inch Dalaa riser and Dryad ACS/RC limbs. I am thinking about a standard NAP centerrest or the centerrest flipper. Which is preferred for accuracy and durability? This will be mainly a hunting bow. Thanks.

Not sure which is better but I used the flipper on a DAS for a good while with great results.
Most religions teach that you earn salvation by keeping rules. Jesus didn't teach that "good people" go to heaven. He taught that "forgiven people" go to heaven. And He invited everyone, no matter what their past, to come to Him and be forgiven.

Either will work fine. Just put a small dot of Velcro or moleskin where arrow contacts rest. Will help on noise. I prefer my self a t300 hunter rest with shorty plunger

I was considering the t 300 and shorty plunger. Then I have read about how they may lose function in dirty hunting situations. This is why I have gotten away from compounds and all the moving parts. Trying to keep it simple and bombproof. I have only seen pics of the t300, but it looks kind of flimsy.?

I use hoyt pro hunter stick on.... Way cheaper, quieter and never malfunctions. Just a thought.

Well I have used the flipper on the same bow but I disliked the noise and the ability of the arrow to fall off of the rest as compared to the stick ons.

I always liked the Center Flipper... pretty bomb proof and more forgiving... and if it did break you simply slid a new head on it...

But what I found to get the center shot where I wanted I had to modify the rest a bit... I had to pull the head off and cut a small portion off the shaft and a little off the back of the rest as well...  The rest then pretty much rests against the riser of the bow...

My experience is similar to twigs. I find it difficult to get the rest far enough to the right on a RH riser to give me a good center rest position. That is why I prefer the champion 11 arrow rest with the shorty plunger. Otherwise I'm with you I like the NAP flipper rest, but the head needs to be thinner. It's difficult to remove material off the back as the wire flipper is fitted into the back.

khardrunner, do you use a plunger with the hoyt stick on rest? I currently shoot a Hoyt super rest stick on on my wood riser recurve and it works fine, just thought I should utilize the tuning possibilities of the metal riser.

No i just shoot as is. There is a hole there if you prefer or need a plunger.

Another vote for the NAP centerrest, they are bomb proof. It's all I use on all my ILF rigs.

Take a small set of needle nose pliers and turn up the end of the metal rest a bit.....doesn't effect it in any way and it helps keep the arrow from falling off.
