Jay,  my wife got me one for Christmas.  Half way thru it now and I will say this. . .  I like it.  Well done.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and past experiences.

Wish I had known you all these years cause I feel very much the same regarding a lot of instances you talk about.

Tradgangers,  I think this is a good read.  Try it !

Got the book a few months ago and read it in its entirety the first evening.  Probably should have weighed in then, but got busy, etc.  My sentiments mirror Wapiti792.  Just an excellent book by someone who's been there, done that.  Thanks for the experience, Jay.

I got my copy earlier this year, and Jay and Karen both signed it.  They (esp. Karen) are my bowhunting heroes.  I've read it completely 4 times already, and am always going back for certain chapters.  This is some of the finest bowhunting writing available, along with Don Thomas, who I can't say enough nice things about.

Trad Gang Fellows, Thank you so much for all of the interest, kind words, and support! We've heard encouragement from so many folks over the last few weeks who got or bought the books over the holiday! We are interested, always, in hearing from everyone about what they like, don't like, and especially what your favorite story was (if you have one). This is our first book, you know, we're kind of new at this. :-)

The Book is available signed and endorsed by both Karen and me from  www.campbellsquest.com  ($14.99 for a few days more until the holiday sale ends), and the e book is on Amazon for $8.95. We still hope to have "Archer's Paradox" the adventures of "Big" Conner from Alaska to Isla Mona, out by the end of 2013. Thanks again! Best, Jay and Karen

I mentioned above that I just finished the book.

I failed to mention that it was great!

As a guy who spends a lot of time reading and writing (for work), I have a great appreciation for a writer who knows how to squeeze every drop of juice out of a word.  Jay does.  If I ever write a book, I would like to emulate his literary style.

Thanks, Jay!

Really enjoyed the book.  In fact, I liked it so much I bought a copy for both my dad and brother.  From the book, "The wilderness is a constant.  It advertises a timeless thing and delivers on the promise.  People leave, but the wilderness remains."

Fellow Trad Gangers: Our Holiday sale is ending on the 1st with the New Year coming, so we gathered up 20 new reviews of the book, and thought we'd put them here! Tell your friends, and maybe a few more folks will join in. :-) $14.99 signed and endorsed by both of us at  www.campbellsquest.com,  and its also an e book (and paperback) on amazon.  We are so humbled and gratified by the support in the last 2 months. Thank you all! Keep telling us what you like, and what your favorite stories are! Best, Karen and Jay Campbell

"One of the absolute best reads I've had my hands on in outdoor writing. Different, heart touching, a can't-put-it-down read. Both thumbs up!" David Mitchell

"One of the best written books I've read in a LONG time. While this is a hunting book  ... it is much more than that. Exceptionally well done." Terry Receveur

"All I can say is Wow!! Great writing. Couldn't put it down once I started. I have always considered Dr. Thomas as the standard for outdoor writers. Your book will sit comfortably on the canoe book shelf right next to his. Your style is refreshing and honest. Thank You." Brian Thibodeau

"Campbell is the needle, the reader is the thread. Prepare to be woven through a complex fabric of life, love, loss, and retribution on a globe trotting journey." David Tetzlaff

"I'm enjoying your book. Inspirational is an understatement." - Brian Kelly

"This is a masterfully written book by one of traditional archery's great adventurers." Don Davis

"Longbow is a great read. Beyond the well-told stories of hunting with stick and string is a deeper story about life itself. This book is hard to put down." Gregg Dudley

"Campbell pulls bowstrings and heart strings...and no punches... in this well written collection of short stories and vignettes of life in the wild with a longbow as a guide."  Chip Turknett

"This terrific tome is ... a marvelous series of hunting vignettes, with each successive chapter leaving one wishing that there were more." Brian L. Peterson

"Buy this book and read it a few times. It will take you back to those places you love the most and to places you would like to explore. [A] great Winter read"  Kerry Pitt

"If you're a bowhunter and haven't added this book to your Library, your Library won't be complete until you do! Great read!" Ken Olson

"Just finished my copy. Very well written, easy to read, interesting, heart felt [and] down to earth."  Kevin Davis

"A man who writes from the heart always tells a great story and Jay is no exception. He faces his own mortality and that of his loved ones with a sense of reverance, pride and a twinkle in his eye. Just a dang good read."  Chris Horsman

"Mr Campbell, it is a great book and you are a gifted writer. I have enjoyed every word so far. I am an avid reader and I have to say that you are one of the best I have read in the Traditional hunting line." Charlie Goodman

"I just finished "Longbow" in two sittings. Its been a fantastic read. It gives voice to the simple fact that its not the trophy, it's the hunt that makes life so amazing. It's been a very long time since I shed a tear whilst reading. Thanks to the both of you for sharing." Eric Cashion

"This man Campbell is an adventurer. In all my years of exploring and hunting the wilds I have yet to see a storyteller that is his match. He guides you there, and offers just enough for the hunter in us all to pause and think. That is special, and so by God is this book." Steve Ewing

"I have to say this book is fantastic. I'm half way through and really enjoying it. Great writing and stories." Joe Caba

"[T]he "never loan-never leave my house" shelf of my library has all 3 of Mr Massey's books, a few by Don Thomas, Barry Wensel's book, two of Gene's, Art Young's book and one by Mr. Jay Campbell. For those of you who have not read Jay's book, do so! It is more than a collection of hunting yarns...it is a book that will make you appreciate a life lived to the fullest." Mike Davenport

"Being a traditional bow hunter for over 5o years, an avid Howard Hill and Fred Bear follower, I think that Jay Campbell is a great author/hunter that tells it like it is with the empty hunts along side of the successful." Richard Rightmyer

"Honest and heartfelt..Not your typical hunting book. Jay brings a personal element to his adventures that is fresh and welcome. Looking forward to his next one." Trad742

Yes....this is a "must read" for bowhunters or any "true hunters".  We can only hope that Jay and Karen will continue to create and share adventures with "we" the reading public.
Have a nice day!
