Anybody here shot an english warbow before?

Just wondering if you did and what it was like and if anyone here owns one.  What weight was it?  I put in a single opening bid on one on the auction site on a whim and whoops, now I own it...all 100@32 of it...  Anyway, I have been comfortably shooting for extended periods in the 50-65 range, own two 65# bows now, also had a 73 that I just sold today cause I just got what I wanted out of that one and wanted to pass it on.  The warbow will probably go right back up for sale after I try it out for a bit, as I didn't think I'd win the auction on the first bid...sometimes that happens?!  Oops.  I've heard the warbow technique is a bit different than what we're all used to normally doing, more full-body, so one is supposed to be able to pull more weight.  So anyone out there play with one of these beasts???  I think when I put in the single bid I had wild ideas of putting on a kilt and hog hunting with it with some 1000 grain arrows HAHAHAHA

Yep ive shot them! What allot of folks dont realize is that they didnt use 100 + pound bows for hunting...those were made for war...and to be able to  reach out and "touch" someone up to 250 yards away!!!

Im not saying you or guys back then couldnt use a bow like that to hunt with...but hunting is the same now as then and you dont need something that heavy. Most of the folks i know that do medieval styled hunts are useing bows 50 to 60 pounds.

Do a search online about the groups across the pond who reenact medieval shooting and you can see how they use their whole body in the shot....useing their whole body allowed them to get off 12 arrows every 60 seconds for long periods of time.

Yes! you can pull it back like you do with your normal bow but not very many times!
