ILF bows

I would like to learn more about the new high tech trad bows using ILF limbs. Are they all interchangeable? Wich are used for target, hunting and both? Best performing limbs? What size risers are best for hunting, target etc...??  Wood versus machined aluminum or composite? How are they for speed and loudness at the shot? Any personal experiences to share?

The primary reason I got my ILF was for versatility. I have a Dryad Epic riser and recurve limbs at my hunting weight. I then got a set of black max limbs in a much lighter weight for form. The Epic is shot off the shelf. The Morrison metal riser I picked up can be shot off the shelf or with an elevated rest/plunger combo. Both limbs I have (Epic and black max) work on both risers. The nice thing is that there's a multitude of limbs to choose from and the price range is equally varied. As far as quietness goes, my ILF is tuned to be just as quiet as my other bows. I can't tell any difference between wood and metal risers. One may be considered more eye appealing than the other but that's just opinion. Call Bob as others suggested for Mike at Dryad. Bob, WOW! My eyes are wide open! I just checked out your website briefly. Never knew you had so much in this area. Looks like so much to learn. I have only been at this game for about 10 years, thought I knew what was out there. Will you be in Kalamazoo?

I was in a similar situation back during the summer. I read every post there was about ILF's and was able to gain a little knowledge. However, you have to shoot one to have the full experience...that is where Morrison Archery comes into the picture.

I was fortunate enough to be working on a project near Morrison Archery. So, I contacted Bob and was able to visit his home where I was able to shoot his line of ILF bows.

Long story, but the short of it is I have one of his new metal design risers with carbon/foam limbs.   This thing is so fast and accurate if I do my part that it has brought my shooting ability to a new level.

Like someone mentioned, contact the couple of references mentioned and see if you can do a trial/test. You will not be sorry and I will be willing to bet you will walk away with one of these rigs.
