A few questions
« on: August 19, 2007, 04:05:00 PM »
I made a trip to Cabelas yesterday to pick up a few goodies. I found some seal skin, but they didn't sell any Barge Cement. Do I have to use that? On the way home I stopped at a craft/hobby shop and they didn't sell it either, but they did have Elmer's Acid Free Rubber Cement, is that ok to use?
My other purchase was a new string. They had them there pre-made, by a company called Hunter's Niche, in dacron. I don't know what string came on my Savannah, so I didn't buy FF. My question is: is this string at least a fair quality product?

Quality yes, way to many strands? Probably. They usually sell 16-18 strand Dacron strings. Your Savannah is FF and ya can use a 12 starnd string of D-97 or other FF material as long as it is not a 100# bow. Shawn

I've never used Barge cement. Always just used any "cheap" contact cement. Don't know about rubber cement, but suspect it might not be as strong as it could be.
