Yes, they are very smart.
If I figure out a handy way to post more video, other than to put it on You Tube, I'll try to do more. It was an amazing bear hunt - came home with tons of footage.

Chris, thanks and thanks to all the others as well.
I didn't know if I was doing it right when I put all the links one post but I guess it did.
Not much else to do on a rainy Friday morning in W. Michigan. (yeah, rain, not snow)
We sure had fun sitting in those stands. The video doesn't even come close to showing all that was going on. If there was one bear being filmed there was almost always another bear or two nearby. It was a riot for sure and yes, black bears are smart!

Absolutely.
Some bears get a bad rap because they do not fear man because they are the ultimate predator in their area and have not seen enogh to worry. They are definitely smart.
