home made back quiver

I saw the how to thread on making your own back quiver but I wouldn't mind seeing a few other home made designs.
Also, whether it was your own design, or the same as the one in the how to forum, what did material cost you?
I'm thinking of a simple back quiver to wear stumping, or rabbit/squirrel hunting.

Kyle when I made mine I used the pattern shown in the how to section but adjusted it to fit my needs(did'nt taper it down from top to bottom   and cut it longer).  As far as materials go I got mine off the big auction site and probably have 70.00 in it.

I've made a pile of quivers. Always start with a heavy paper to roll and tape to get the right shape. Keep trimming your paper quiver until you come up with a pattern just the right size and shape. Don't forget to overlap an inch or so for holes and lacing, you can mark out all the holes too. Do all this before you ever put a knife to leather, it will save you a ton of grief.

You don't need a lot of specialized tools. You can cut the leather with a knife and drill out your holes if you don't have a punch.

I get my leather from a local Amish and pay $55-$75 for a side, which gives me enough for 3 or 4 quivers. Try to get a piece with medium stiffness to keep its shape and still conform to your back. The bottom should be thicker and stiffer. I use an old wide belt to get my bottoms.

I like the "open" design such as the Highnoon type
These are pretty simple to do
And you can make them as pretty or primitive as you wish.
