Pop-Up Blind Bow Holder
« on: January 11, 2013, 04:42:00 PM »
Just seeing what you guys use for a bow holder in your pop- up blind? Or do you use a bow hanger? Or something you may have rigged up yourself? Pics would be great. Really need some input on this.  Thanks!!!  God bless.

I use a HME blind bow holder, cost maybe 15 bucks I think. It anchors to the metal poles on your hub style blind. I also have a ground stake holder but its only good when the ground isn't frozen, that one was about ten bucks.

I usually lay it across my thighs same as in a tree stand. Otherwise just lean it against wall of blind like Shaun said.
Why do folks always want to over complicate things?

"complicate things"....how so?

I use one of the bowholder that you stick in the ground. It holds the bow upright off the the side of me, and because I use a string tracker, it keeps the string from getting caught up in any ground debris(I know, sting trackers "complicate things too   ;) )  .

The upright position saves room in the blind which is important when sharing the blind with others.

If you call taking a couple seconds to stick something in the ground that helps keep things organized "complicated"...well then I'm a "complicated" guy   :nono:

You can get these in-the-ground bowholders in just about any big hunting supplier.

i use one by Primos. It is a thick plastic  flexible tie that goes over the roof rod. You can find them in the atoumotive tie down area if Primos isn't your thing. works well in a tree also.

I like to stick the bottom limb in the outside of my boots. I can see where a holder would be pretty nice though.

I leaned mine against the supporting rod of my pop-up.

When it fell it was reassuring to see that my broadhead was REALLY sharp. Duct tape on the inside of the wall did a good job, but I may make things a bit more complicated from now on.

Lol, hadn't thought about using duct tape, I'll need about 6 pieces. Complicated is good.

One of the many reasons I like hunting out of a pop-up is so I don't have to hold my bow. The blind allows me the ability to grab it when I need it. Guru's link is what I've been using for several years now, and it works just fine.

Complicate things? Not hardly. A bow holder is simple and works. Leaning it against the wall makes noise, and puts holes in my tent blinds. I use a cobbled together PVC pipe and a spike.

thanks Guru... i thought about hanging something from top hub but its in the center of blind an the branches i put on top weigh enough i think the bow added to it would pull it down..
here is a tip i use when leaving my blind out for a while .."really helpful in a heavy wet snow..go buy a cargo pole for the bed of your truck you know the ones that adjust with a ratchet from side to side in your truck bed to keep the cargo from sliding around.
put one end on ground other on top hub adjust to lift top hub up a bit an it will keep the snow from breaking your top hub..clean off most of the snow get in take it down put in corner an hunt..

After poking a couple holes in the blind I glued a piece of leather to the blind side which worked but lately i've been trying one of the ground stake holders that Double Bull sells and they seem to work fairly good.
