Clicker ??

I've been thinking about this for awhile. Anyone use one ? I've been shooting a long time, and target panic comes and goes. I need to be more consistent. Will these help ? Can they be transfered from bow to bow ? Pro's and con's appreciated.

Useful with target arrows.  Worthless for broadheads.

Stumpkiller, The one I was looking at was from 3Rivers and attached to the upper limb and string. Never touches the arrow. I know the target type you're refering to won't work for hunting arrows.

The click-it clicker that attaches to the bow limb with a string to the bow string will work with field points and broadheads.  I've been fighting target panic on and off for more than 20 years.  I used a clicker for a while. Gave me something else to focus on and seemed to work.  Haven't felt the need for it lately, but wouldn't hesitate to put one on my bow again if I felt I needed to.  

Can't conviently transfer them from bow to bow.  They're adjusted for your particular draw length on an individual bow.  That will change if you move it to another bow.  Also can take an hour or two to and several shooting sessions to adjusted it perfectly.  They're relatively inexpensive though, about $15, so can buy several for different bows.  Good luck.  TP is no fun.

Ah.  As Orion says, the one that attaches to the face of a limb will work for all arrow heads.  

The thing to watch for with a clicker is that once you hear the "click" you have to release before you allow the arrow to creap back down to a lower draw.  They work great for some but have lesser results for others.  For someone in the habit of snap shooting before reaching full draw they are worth their weight in gold.

Used 1 for many years and definitely helped me, in fact probably saved me from doing something drastic.  I developed a solid anchor and hold which I never was able to do before consistently.  I am now shooting without 1 but if it creeps back in you can bet I will reattach a clicker and start working on it again!

I have used one for the past 2 seasons when I developed the short draw form of TP.  The key to avoiding the above is that when you hear the click, you ensure you are pulling with proper back tension and pull through the click and release cleanly.  If you release immediately upon hearing the click you can induce a whole new set of problems like torquing the bow, etc.

Thanks guy's. I've read all the posts in the shooters forum, Reality check thread. Great info there. And, I just placed an order with 3Rivers for one of there clickers. I believe it will help give me the consistency I'm looking for. Thanks again.

One thing I'm sure of with a clicker. If your over bowed it will let you know.

I have known several folks that have used them with good results. However, some 3D shoots won't allow you to compete while using one, but curing a shooting problem certainly outweighs that consideration.
