I have been shooting carbon out of my longbow. I am thinking of changing to wood arrows. What determines what dia. And type of wood?  I

11/32 is a common diameter for average poundage (45 - 65). The 5/16 for lower poundage. Type of wood s strictly personal preference.

Some of the wood types will be heavier. POC is a medium weight, the smell is nostalgic when they break.
Ash usually can be heavier.
If you don't loose or break arrows often then some of the better wood shafts are a good choice like Surewoods.
