Bow Glove/bracer
« on: January 27, 2013, 08:34:00 PM »
Hey fellow tradgangers,

next sunday I leave to attend a bow builders workshop in Appomattox, Va hosted by local bowyer Alton Hill. In the workshop we are building traditional self-bows. I would like to build a shoot-off-the-knuckle style traditional bow as I already have a laminated, shelved longbow.

I am also interested in learning how to make my own bow glove and bracer. Is there anybody who has done so and has a pattern they don't mind sharing? Or any tips on doing so? Also what would be the best leather? Suede, deer hide, hard, soft, etc?

Thanks for any advice!
