German bowyer - Rudi Weick
« on: January 28, 2013, 01:18:00 PM »
Hi guys,
I stumbled upon this bowyer called Rudi Weick. From what I know, he is a German bowyer who builds bows that looks and shoots amazing.

I'm not sure how many knows of him, but I just thought this would be an interesting find!
For the privileged few who owns his bows, time to let the pictures talk! I'd love to see more of his works, truly amazing bows.

Let's see what everyone has to say about Rudi Weick's bow.

He is well known in Germany and his bows are high quality bows with good performance. German precision work.
His Cobra and Caiman take down recurves are very nice imho. Good price-performance ratio.
He also makes some expensive
"fairy tale/fantasy" bows, but thats a matter of taste, I dont like those bows.

Nice craftmanship. I would like to see more pics of limbs and see what he has going on for design.

God bless, Steve

Go the Bogenpreise (bow prices) - they are in Euro naturally. You can get the current exchange rate off the internet, but $1.30/Euro will be close enough comparison purposes.

Stuff takes your breath away. Just gorgeous. Prices look pretty competitive with anyone else's high end bows.

2600 Euro's for the Moria.  I don't know of anyone doing anything quite like this with a riser.  Must be an interesting fellow!

I really like the look of the "pigeon's dream" and "evolution 11".
Really interesting designs, very organic compared to modern bows. His wood combinations are rather unique too!
I'd die to see one of his creations made in Macassar Ebony and Myrtle/ white ebony. Caught the black and white addiction lately.

Maybe I'll try my hand at drawing up something to work on for my next riser. Time to look for myrtle and ebony.

The Cobra TD recurve is round about $700 at the moment. ($1,35 = 1 Euro)
Its a real nice bow with smooth draw and very good speed, grip is very comfortable if you like medium - high pistol grips.
