Just thought it was interesting with everyone so hung up on speed today that Pearson was the first I  ever saw advertize a bow with "speed".

Of course Jack Howard proclaimed his Jet was the "Worlds Fastest Bow" but never put any chronograph numbers to it. My point was even if that bow had heavier arrows matched to it, hunters still took big game back then.

Kirk; I can still remember those days! You don't look as old as me, so someone must have told you about "way back when"! Lol

I bought one of these bows while I was working for a buck an hour. If you sent in the card with the warranty info they sent back a set of your initials to put on the bow. It was 55 lbs. @ 28in. and 66in. long. I managed to kill a few rabbits with it. While I was in Viet Nam the bow got moved to a closet and stood on end. That tweaked the bottom limb be on repair. I like recalling the old days of archery.

I've got an article where Jack Howard posted chronograph numbers but he also advocated lighter arrows. My Jet with a 10gpp arrow is faster than my ACS longbow even with its polyester string. My dads Browning Drake Signature is also faster than my ACS. I think its amazing that despite the technology bows haven't gained any real speed in sixty years.

Is everyone seeing the pics?

The pics were there, now there's just a little box with a red "X" and a little dash after.

Same here. We have one about 45 minutes from my house. It's also about 2 miles from a farm I hunt on in Green county.
