I had Jerry make me a Critter Gitter not quite two years ago. Unfortunately, like many, I went with a one piece and then later wished I had gotten the jackknife option. By then it was too late to order a new Critter Gitter since Jerry had quit making them. I've talked with Jerry a few times about his discontinuing the Critter Gitter and also the Fireball, which was another great model. Like it's been said above, those were the two hardest bows to make and Jerry simply didn't want to make them anymore. You have to respect that.
While I would love to have another Critter Gitter and it is my favorite bow ever, I wouldn't want Jerry to make one if his heart wasn't in it. Most likely, I'll suck it up and get a Bush Bow next.
Brianlocal3, I did look at the Northern Mist bows while up at K-Zoo. They are very similiar, you are right. Would be a good alternative for someone dead set on wanting a bow like the Critter Gitter. That being said, in my hand the grip of the Baraga didn't feel quite as good as the Great Northern bows (locator grip). But still, Steve makes a great bow and I don't think a guy could go wrong with either a Northern Mist or a Great Northern.
