Here's what confused me Killdeer..just picked this one up under the bird feeder out front. Didn't know you couldn't use woodpecker feathers for decoration.

Ferret, a few years back an artist made an exhibit piece of feathers collected from the ground in her yard and got in trouble. Killie's work certainly is a piece of art and Danny is a lucky man to have it!

Nice pic, Mickey! That looks like the secondary from the right wing of a Downy or Hairy woodpecker. The two are right close in size and coloration, I always have to check beak length if I don't hear them call. Hmm. Sometimes I check beak length to double-check the call! Got any beaks hanging around?
I usually see more Downies than Hairies.
Basically, if it's wild, and you can't hunt it, it's protected, and you can't have any part of it. :( :(

Sorry Danny, national "TREASURES" can not be shipped out of the country. I'll ask Mickey to send you the woodpecker feather and Miss Killy can send me the TREASURE for safe keeping.

Well Dave, since Guam is "Where America's Day Begins" and is a US Territory, then I am "In the Country".LOL
Soon as I get the Quiver that Shell made me from Last years St. Judes, this feather is going on that quiver. Very serious MOJO!!!

Well, I lost again; I thought we sold Guam to Japan or China. You are right about the serious MOJO; Killdeer feather on a Shell quiver is a tough combo to beat. Enjoy!!
