What do you consider your "go to" string and serving material?

After watching and learning to "Do the twist" from Chad's video, I was having so much fun that I went nuts and bought so many spools of different materials, colors, and serving that I lost count.  I bought a lot of partial spools and still remember shelling out close to $600 in no time at all.  
I learned and practiced with the cheap B-50 or B-55 material and then started into the FF materials with D97 because of the price.  I make strings for myself, my friends, and now my friends friends   :D   I use 8125, 8125G, 452x, and Ultracam the most because that's what I currently have the most of.  If I had to choose just one string material it would be 452x or Ultracam. I can't really tell much difference between these two materials but I can definitely tell the difference between these two and all the others that I have tried.....especially with skinny strings.  Serving is easier for me....Halo all the way.  Most of my personal strings are 10 strands of either 452x or Ultracam.

Mostly 8125, 12 strands double served with Angel Majesty .015..

I've made a few lately with 14 strands of 8190 still double served with the .015

Jasper, what makes the 452x or Ultracam your choice over the others. I've not used either of these two yet..

I actually think it has more to do with bow design than anything else because I notice very little difference in some bows and a huge difference in others.  That being said, 452x and Ultracam quiet some of bows considerably and change the overall sound and feel of the shot to more of deep "thump" which I prefer even with fairly light carbon arrows.  Additionally, these two materials have proven the most stable to me in terms of stretch and creep regardless of temperature. This becomes even more apparent with low strand count strings and it takes a lot more twisting to adjust the BH so I don't like messing with it if I don't have to.

I put all of my strings on a stretching jig under 200+# of tension and leave them anywhere from 4 to 10 hours.  This has shown some interesting results with certain materials even after the string has "settled in"  Lastly, these materials have a different "feel" to them as well, possibly because of the amount of Vectran, and it just seems easier for me to consistently twist a nice string even with very small diameter bundles.

By the way, I'd like to give a shout out to Glenn Mcpherson (L82HUNT) from Missouri for sending me some sample material and turning me on to UltraCam.  

Jim Neaves of Centaur Archery has been known to spend plenty of time testing things in search of the best.  He currently uses and recommends UltraCam strings on his bows and that's good enough for me.....That guy is the man!

Most of my hunting bows still take Dacron. But for my recurves that will handle it, Angel Majesty, with Angel Majesty Serving.
